Reverse Osmosis System Agents
■ Reverse Osmosis Antiscalant
Reverse osmosis scale inhibitor is a concentrated special polycarboxylic acid aqueous solution that can effectively control the deposition of inorganic salt scale on the membrane surface.
Reverse osmosis scale inhibitor specifically solves the needs of reverse osmosis membrane treatment system:
● Excellent carbonate and sulfate scale control deposition capability under economical operating conditions;
● Possessing dispersant characteristics;
● Good silicate scale deposition inhibition capability and good iron ion tolerance;
● Good compatibility with all mainstream membrane materials on the market;
Product Chemical Compatibility
Under normal use, reverse osmosis scale inhibitors are not affected by chlorine or other oxidizing fungicides. They can be used in membrane treatment systems using chlorine and sodium metabisulfite.
Dosing application guide Reverse osmosis scale inhibitors are miscible with water in any proportion. They can be added to the permeate water in the form of pure product or water-diluted solution. The recommended minimum dilution concentration of the liquid is 10% (w/w). It should be added continuously in proportion to the feed water flow and always maintained at the recommended dosage level. The
required dosage level is related to the feed water quality and the saturation index of different fouling components present in the brine. Professional calculation software can be used to calculate the scaling index and the optimal membrane system recovery rate. Dosage level predictions and recommended values are available on request.

■ Reverse Osmosis System Bactericide
Reverse osmosis system bactericide is a high-speed and efficient non-oxidizing bactericide that uses a reverse osmosis membrane treatment system. It has been proven to effectively kill bacteria, fungi, yeasts, blue-green algae and true algae under low-dose conditions. Reverse osmosis system bactericide is a highly efficient non-oxidizing bactericide with the following advantages:
● Rapid response, effective at low concentrations
● Non-corrosive at the concentrations used
● Rapid decomposition in the natural environment
● Broad-spectrum microbial sterilization
● Compatible with thin film composite membranes
Dosing Application Guide
The reverse osmosis system bactericide is considered to be environmentally safe within 30 minutes of being added to the reverse osmosis membrane system. The hydrolysis rate is related to temperature and pH value.
Online Cleaning Applications
Reverse osmosis system biocides can be added to the reverse osmosis water according to the water flow rate, and the dosage range is 40-400ppm (4-40.0 fl.oz/minute per 1000 gallons/minute water flow or 32-320 ml/minute per cubic meter/minute water flow). For intermittent dosing mode, at least 1 hour of continuous dosing is required.
Do not add reverse osmosis system biocides to the membrane treatment system water where sodium sulfite or other reducing agents are present. Stop adding any reducing agents at least 15 minutes before adding reverse osmosis system biocides to avoid neutralization and consumption of active ingredients.
When the RO product water is drinking water or medical water, reverse osmosis system biocides should not be used for online cleaning.
Offline Cleaning Applications
1. Add the RO system biocide to the feed water tank for offline cleaning operation.
2. Add the solution at a dosage of 200-680ppm (160-544ml/m3) based on the total volume of the aqueous solution in the feed water tank.
3. Pump all the prepared solution into the membrane system for repeated circulation or soaking for 1-3 hours to ensure that all membrane components are fully in contact with the RO system biocide solution. The frequency of addition should be once every 5 days or adjusted according to actual needs.
4. Rinse and replace the solution in the system at 3 times the system volume to ensure that the RO system biocide solution is completely flushed and replaced from the RO membrane component system. It is very important to circulate and rinse thoroughly according to normal operation before putting the permeate water into the water tank.
Note: Add the RO system biocide to the feed water tank separately. Do not mix with other chemicals to avoid the high pH value of other chemicals causing the RO system biocide to decompose quickly and affect the effect.
